WESTERN AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS COMMISSION Industrial Relations Act 1979. Section 23 — Site Allowance. Thiess Contractors Pty Ltd and Construction, Mining and Energy Workers Union of Australia WA Branch. No. 1641 of 1988. Construction Workers Construction COMMISSIONER A.R. BEECH. 15th day of February 1989. Order. HAVING heard Mr T. Dobson on behalf of the applicant and Mr J. Gallagher on behalf of the respondent, the Commission, pursuant to the powers conferred on it under the Industrial Relations Act 1979 hereby orders— (1) That pursuant to subclause (16) of Clause 8. — Rates of Pay of the Building Trades (Construction) Award No. 14 of 1978 as amended and Clause 31. — Site Allowance of the Earthmoving and Construction Award as amended a site allowance of $ 1.50 per hour for each hour worked shall be paid on the Harris River Dam Project located near Collie to be paid in lieu of all special rates in Clause 9. — Special Rates of the Building Trades (Construction) Award No. 14 of 1978 and Clause 24. — Allowances and Special Provisions of the Earthmoving and Construction Award. (2) Each employee is entitled to a free issue of safety boots and protective clothing where appropriate, to be replaced on a fair wear and tear basis. (3) That this Order shall take effect from the beginning of the project and shall cease at the completion of the project. Whilst not forming part of this Order it is recognised that in addition to the above matters in consideration of the full settlement of all claims raised the parties agreed to the following: 1. Payment of superannuation to the appropriate approved union scheme. 2. Provision of air-conditioned lunch sheds compatible to those provided in accordance v/ith the Building Trades (Construction) Award, including the supply of tea, coffee, milk and sugar to these facilities. 69 W.A.I.G. WESTERN AUSTRALIAN INDUSTRIAL GAZETTE 3. Recognition of shop stewards from all appropriate unions. 4. Provision of cold water and ice facility- on site. 5. A site safety committee in accordance with the Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare Act (Sgd.) A.R. BEECH. Commissioner. AWARD No. 14 of 1978.
