Paul on behalf of the Electrical Contractors’ Associa- tion of Western Australia and Mr D. Sproule on behalf of the Respondents, now therefore, the Commission, pursuant to the powers conferred on it under the Industrial Relations Act, 1979, hereby orders— THAT consistent with the Statement of Principles— November 1997, Electrical Trades (Security Alarms Industry) Award 1980 be varied to give effect to the THIRD ARBITRATED SAFETY NET ADJUSTMENT OF $8.00 PER WEEK in accordance with the following schedule and that this increase apply on and from the 19th day of November 1997. Clause 27.—Supplementary Payments: Delete paragraphs (a) and (b) of subclause (1) of this clause and insert in lieu thereof the following— (1) (a) In addition to the rates payable under the pro- visions of Clause 28.—Wages of this Award, other than this provision, an employee, em- ployed in the classifications listed, shall be paid the supplementary payment prescribed— 1st, 2nd, 3rd & $10.00 Total Supplementary Arbitrated Supplementary Classification Payment Safety Net Payment Per Week Adjustment Per Week Group A Serviceperson 51.90 34.00 85.90 (Special Class) Group B Serviceperson 49.40 34.00 83.40 Group C Installer 49.40 34.00 83.40 Group D Trades Assistant 39.30 34.00 73.30 ` (b) The rates of pay in this award include the third $8.00 per week arbitrated safety net adjust- ment payable under the December, 1994 State Wage Decision. This third $8.00 per week ar- bitrated safety net adjustment may be offset to the extent of any wage increase payable since 1 November, 1991, pursuant to enter- prise agreements, consent award variations to give effect to enterprise agreements, insofar as that wage increase has not previously been used to offset an arbitrated safety net adjust- ment. Increases made under previous State Wage Case Principles or under the current Statement of Principles, excepting those re- sulting from enterprise agreements, are not to be used to offset arbitrated safety net adjust- ments. Furthermore the rates of pay in this award in- clude the $10.00 per week arbitrated safety net adjustment payable from the beginning of the first pay period on or after 14th day of No- vember 1997. This arbitrated safety net adjustment shall be offset against any equivalent amount in rates of pay received by employees since 1 Novem- ber 1991 whose wages and conditions are regulated by this award and which are above the wage rates prescribed in it, provided that the above award payments include wages pay- able under an enterprise agreement in which absorption is not contrary to the terms of the enterprise agreement. Increases made under State Wage Case Prin- ciples prior to November 1997, except those resulting from enterprise agreements, are not to be used to offset this arbitrated safety net adjustment of $10.00 per week.
